ICSI

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

Complete patient guide — what it is, who it's for, the process, costs, and which countries offer it.

Overview

ICSI is a specialized form of IVF where a single sperm is injected directly into a mature egg using a fine glass needle. It is used when sperm quality or quantity is insufficient for conventional IVF, or after previous IVF fertilization failure.

ICSI is now used in roughly 60-70% of all IVF cycles globally, even when male factor is not present — though many clinics reserve it for specific indications.
